Free Guitar Chord Practice App for Beginners
In the Chord Progressions tab, choose a key (e.g., C major, G major, A minor) and a pattern (ii–V–I, '50s progression, I–V–vi–IV, etc.) to automatically play the progression. The selected chords are also shown as text, which helps for practice, analysis, and songwriting. Keywords like “C major ii–V–I,” “pop progression,” and “12-bar blues” are naturally covered.
In Chord Practice, pick individual guitar chords (C, G, D, Am, etc.) and switch positions (open/barre) to see the shapes. The fretboard displays the finger placements, and you can play the chord sound. It shows the note spelling and type (Major/Minor/Diminished), supporting voicing study, fretboard mapping, and ear training.
The Music Theory tab lists diatonic chords for the selected key and lets you instantly play recommended progressions such as I–V–vi–IV and ii–V–I. It’s ideal for learning functional harmony, roman numerals, and common patterns like ii–V–I and the I–vi–ii–V turnaround.
